Natural, relaxed, fried, dyed and laid to the side, black girls love their hair. It has inspired some great catch phrases:

Many women have forgone the pool on a hot, summer day for fear of messing up the do. Our hairstyles often mark milestones in our lives. I was a wide-eyed dreamy child dreading the straightening comb, a precocious teen rocking relaxers, and now a secure young woman owning the natural.

#2 The Lord

I know what you are thinking. How can you list Black Men before The Lord? Well, frankly, because everyone knows Jesus is a black man. LOL

Seriously folks, black women love the Lord. If loving the Lord is wrong, we don't wanna be right. Just take a look at any church today. Nearly 85-90% percent of the congregation is black women.

For many women, The Lord is the only man in their life. He is father, husband, and friend. Ask a random black woman how she is doing. A good number may just reply, "Fine with the help of the Lord."

Just an observation by one black girl.

#1 Black Men

I don't know of any other nationality that can get away with saying in a public forum that they want only their race of men. Can you imagine, Gweneth Paltrow exclaiming, "I wants me a strong white man!"? LOL

Yet, we do. Black girls love black men.

We love them like dessert. We name them after flavors. I want a chocolate, vanilla, pecan, hot black coffee of a man.

We love them when their broke or hard on luck. We bemoan them when they are rich and on the arms of another race. Hey it happens.

Now that the 44th President is a black man, we have fallen in love all over again. Not that a black girl won't love and marry another race, but she will always profess an undying love for a brother.

It's just the way it is.
